For 120 years, the YWCA has helped women, children and families in Nashville and Middle Tennessee build safer, more self-sufficient lives.
We do this by operating the largest domestic violence shelter in Tennessee so women and children fleeing abuse can heal. We empower youth to break down negative gender stereotypes through Girls Inc. and AMEND Together. We provide the tools needed to become successful in work and life through Dress for Success and the Family Literacy Center. Our programs are FREE to the thousands of people we serve each year and are offered to everyone.
Domestic Violence Services
We help break the cycle of abuse by offering the largest DV shelter in TN, a 24-hour crisis line, transitional housing, counseling, and education.
Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold, Girls Inc. uses a hands-on curriculum to impact hundreds of students in Nashville each year.
Dress for Success Nashville
We give women the confidence to be self-sufficient by providing professional clothing, a network of support, and career development tools.
Family Literacy Center
We offer quality, culturally sensitive, family-centered programming to help families break the cycle of intergenerational poverty and illiteracy.
