ENROLL NOW FOR OUR FREE HiSET STUDY PROGRAM

Welcome to the YWCA Family Learning Center! We have open enrollment for all Tennessee adults interested in earning their high school equivalency (HSE) diploma through the HiSET program. Our program is effective and successful. All classes, tutoring, and practice tests are free of charge.

Many of our classes are delivered online, which requires internet access and a computer, laptop, or telephone. Not having access to these does NOT mean that you cannot access instruction! Our instructors will be happy to send you instructional material, and work with you on a one-to-one basis to help you reach your goals.

Dollar General Literacy Foundation

J.L. Turner was functionally illiterate with only a third-grade education. His father died in an accident, and J.L. quit school so he could work on the family farm and help provide for his family. With hard work and determination, J.L. Turner went on to co-found Dollar General. In 1993, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation was established in his honor. We understand that life can present many obstacles, but we also know it’s never too late to learn! Like J.L., so many others desire to better their lives and the lives of their families and it’s in this spirit that the foundation has flourished.

The Dollar General Literacy Foundation is a leading supporter of our Family Learning Center.

GOAL Collective

Our collective mission is to triple the number of adults achieving their educational goals by 2025 and create a network able to better serve more people.

By identifying opportunities, understanding barriers, and making data-informed decisions around future programming and other needs, the GOAL Collective is working to get the right learner in the right seat at the right time. Formerly known as Adult Education Collective Impact (AECI), we are a group of adult education providers collaborating in design and technology to build a central network with shared data and streamlined referrals, to ultimately create a system that will be able to better serve all learners seeking services within Nashville, TN.

United Way of Greater Nashville

United Way is making a better Nashville by creating strategic, scalable solutions focused on education, financial stability and health. These are the building blocks for a good life – a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health. Creating solutions in these areas moves people from dependence to independence. The United Way of Metro Nashville’s goal is to create long lasting changes that prevent problems from happening in the first place.

United Way Metropolitan Nashville provides operating support for our Family Learning Center, Domestic Violence Services, Girls Inc., and Dress for Success.
