As the leading provider of domestic violence services in Middle Tennessee, we offer a continuum of services to keep families safe. The Weaver Domestic Violence Center is the largest emergency domestic violence shelter in the region, providing a place for women and children to heal. We also operate a 24-hour Crisis & Support Helpline, individual therapy and counseling, support groups, community education, transitional housing, and Re-New at the YWCA. These same services are provided to men and gender-queer individuals, with emergency DV shelter offered at other undisclosed locations.
We provide youth programming in more than a dozen Metro Nashville Public Schools. Girls Inc. empowers girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Throughout the year, the girls learn how to navigate media representation, financial literacy, college prep, and more. AMEND Together aims to cultivate healthy masculinity, and change a culture that supports violence against women and girls. Boys learn how their everyday conversations and personal actions can play into a gender stereotype that negatively impacts our whole society. They build positive peer culture while learning healthy communication and relationship skills.
We believe in the power of education and self-confidence to inspire all people. Our Family Learning Center offers programming to learners of all ages, backgrounds, and genders. Free HiSET (formerly GED) classes are available to all adult learners, while our family programming gives parents tools to enrich their children’s experiences. For women entering the workforce, Dress for Success Nashville is an invaluable resource to empower them through personal wardrobe styling and career support. These tools give women the confidence to succeed in work and life.
