Weaver Domestic Violence Center

Need help? Have questions? Call our anonymous, confidential 24/7 Crisis & Support Helpline:
1-800-334-4628 or TEXT (615) 983-5170

Our trained counselors are ready when you are to answer questions about your personal situation or that of a loved one. They can also direct you to community support groups, develop a safety plan, and connect you with law enforcement, advocates, or the Family Safety Center.

Calling our Crisis & Support Helpline (1-800-334-4628) or texting us at (615) 983-5170 is the first step in accessing the Weaver Domestic Violence Center. The largest emergency shelter in the region, this warm and welcoming 65-bed center is situated in a confidential location in Nashville. We welcome survivors and their children up to the age of 17-years old. Male survivors are housed in a separate, undisclosed facility. Stays are limited to 75 days. While in shelter, residents are paired with a case worker who helps them begin the process of healing and connects survivors with community services to help them become self-sufficient.  Click HERE to download information on the Coordinated Entry System (Transitional Housing).

Fulfilling our mission of empowering women, YWCA is the primary provider of domestic violence services in the region.

YWCA empowers domestic violence survivors to take control of their lives, while offering them safety and the resources to ensure their self-sufficiency. Domestic violence is any pattern of behaviors that attempts to control and intimidate a partner or family member through fear, manipulation, isolation, financial abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse and/or verbal abuse. Domestic violence does not discriminate. It cuts across all ethnic, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds.

YWCA is the largest provider of domestic violence services in the state of Tennessee. YWCA’s Weaver Domestic Violence Center is a 65-bed emergency shelter in an undisclosed location in Nashville. A state-of-the-art pet shelter opened on the grounds of the Weaver Center in early 2021. Learn more about this life-saving project – Abbie’s Safe Home – here.

On April 1, 2023, YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee premiered this powerful video on the impact of domestic violence on children and our community. We are truly grateful to Austin Deese and Barry Allen for sharing their stories. Through their voices, YWCA seeks to educate the public about the crisis of domestic violence and break the cycle of abuse. Thank you to KGV Studios for your work on this project.

Nanny’s Playground

In late 2023, Barry Allen gave back to his hometown as he honored his late mother, Mary Sue Allen. Barry and his wife, Lisa Allen, donated a brand new beautiful and fully accessible playground for children who are staying safe and healing with their mothers at our Weaver Domestic Violence Center.
