YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee Receives 2026 Nissan Neighbors Grant to Support Stand Against Injustice Education Series

Women’s History Month In-Person Lunch & Learn at YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee featuring leaders from Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center, The Equity Alliance, and Ed Trust Tennessee.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Sept. 18, 2026 — YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee has been selected as a 2026 Nissan Neighbors grantee, with funding provided by the Nissan Foundation to support the Stand Against Injustice Community Education Program during the 2026–2027 grant year.

The award continues several years of support from the Nissan Foundation for Stand Against Injustice, YWCA Nashville’s educational series designed to bring community members together for thoughtful conversations about history, culture, civic life and the issues shaping our communities.

YWCA Nashville launched Stand Against Injustice in 2019 to create opportunities for education, dialogue, and community connection. Through conversations with scholars, community leaders, and subject-matter experts, the series encourages participants to explore complex topics, consider different perspectives, and strengthen their ability to engage thoughtfully with their communities. Over the past two years, YWCA has also returned to hosting in-person lunch and learn events, creating opportunities for individuals of all generations to gather in community.

The educational programming also includes virtual learning tools, including the 21-Day Challenge and Continuing the Challenge email campaigns, designed to create dedicated time and space to build more effective social justice habits, particularly those dealing with issues of equity and justice.
