The Best Women’s Event in Nashville – Wine Women & Shoes – Is BACK

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 20, 2024) – YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee is hosting its 12th annual Wine Women & Shoes, presented by Regions on Saturday, April 13, at the Music City Center. This event brings Nashville’s most extraordinary women together to support individuals and their families who are experiencing domestic violence. It was named the Best Women’s Event by Nfocus magazine in its Best Parties 2023 issue.

Over the past decade, Wine Women & Shoes has raised more than $3 million for YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee to provide safety and shelter to thousands of people who turn to the Weaver Domestic Violence Center in their greatest time of need.

“Our work is more important now than ever,” said Sharon Roberson, president and CEO of YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee. “Wine Women & Shoes gives women in our community the opportunity to help other women who are fleeing domestic violence and empower survivors to take control of their lives.”

Attendees will spend the afternoon enjoying a champagne bar and tasting more than a dozen wines, spirits and mocktails. In addition to provisions, guests can participate in a “Best in Shoe” contest and the “Key to the California Closet,” filled with dining, spa and luxury experiences, valued at $10,000. The shopping marketplace will feature clothing, jewelry and, of course, shoes. WWS will again offer an exciting lineup of silent and live auction items. Among them are a night’s stay and tickets to the August Chris Stapleton concert from Renaissance Nashville Hotel, and tickets to CMA Fest and the 2024 CMA Awards.

This year’s co-chairs are Jorie Kersey and May Lavender. For the fourth year, Vicki Yates, beloved NewsChannel 5 anchor, will return to emcee the event. All proceeds benefit YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee’s domestic violence services, including the Weaver Domestic Violence Center, the 24-Hour Crisis and Support Helpline, Abbie’s Safe Home pet shelter, Re-New at the YWCA, adult and children’s counseling, and other supportive services. Nearly 5,000 calls for help were answered and over 400 women and children were served at the Weaver Center in 2023.

“Every year, we are grateful for the opportunity to host a fun, fabulous and empowering event dedicated to women supporting women,” Kersey said. “This event would not be possible without our outstanding sponsors, including Regions, returning as our presenting sponsor for the 11th year!”

“The generosity of the corporate partners is matched only by the generosity and support of the individuals who attend this event,” Lavender said. “Whether they are here for the first time or the 12th time, we are in awe of their support for the lifesaving and life-changing work of the YWCA’s Weaver Domestic Violence Center.”

More than 500 guests are expected to attend the event. In addition to Regions, Wine Women & Shoes 2024 sponsors include Deloitte, Plastic Surgery Center of Nashville, California Closets, Fifth Third Bank, Holland & Knight, FW Publishing, Destination Musick City, Nashville General Hospital, and LBMC Cares Foundation.
