(NASHVILLE, Tenn. - April 30, 2025) - This year’s 25th Annual Moosic City Dairy Dash on Saturday, April 12, was truly one for the record books. On a beautiful, sunny morning at Metro Center, thousands of runners, walkers, and supporters gathered at Metro Center for one of Nashville’s most beloved traditions. With more participants than ever before, the Dairy Dash raised an astounding $215,000—the largest amount in its history.
From its beginning 25 years ago, the Dairy Dash has been about community. The race was founded to honor a dear friend lost too soon to cancer, and through the vision of co-founders Barry Allen and Mark Ezell, it has become a signature charity event for our city. To date, the Dairy Dash has raised more than $2 million for Nashville nonprofits, each year shining a light on causes that strengthen and uplift our community.
YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee is deeply honored to have been selected as this year’s beneficiary. These funds will support the Weaver Domestic Violence Center, the largest emergency shelter of its kind in the state, which is also marking 25 years of serving women, children, and families escaping abuse. With the Dairy Dash’s generosity, survivors will continue to find safety, healing, and hope for the future.
The 2025 Dairy Dash wasn’t just about running—it was about coming together. From the inspiring National Anthem performance by Lucki Price, at Girls Inc. at YWCA Nashville alumnae, to emcee Nick Beres from NewsChannel 5, to the laughter and cheers during the check presentation at Mark Ezell’s home alongside the Dairy Dash family and YWCA board members Sarah Ann Ezell and Susie Mackie, this event celebrated what Nashville does best: caring for one another.
On behalf of the YWCA, thank you to the Dairy Dash Board, Purity Dairies, and every sponsor, volunteer, and participant who made this year so extraordinary. Together, you are helping us build a future free from violence.
