Scott Hamilton to offer keynote at 3rd annual AMEND Experience.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 21, 2018) — The YWCA is thrilled to announce Scott Hamilton, the most recognized male figure skating star in the world, is the featured speaker for the 3rd annual AMEND Experience. The Olympic Gold medalist, best-selling author, broadcaster, cancer survivor, humanitarian, and motivational speaker will inspire the audience not to give up on this important community work.

The AMEND Experience is an annual gathering of community leaders who are committed to ending violence against women and girls. The breakfast is FREE and open to the public (registration required) and will focus on ways to “Challenge the Culture.” The statistics are staggering: one in four women will be a victim of domestic violence in her lifetime; Tennessee ranks 4th in the nation for the rate at which men murder women; and more than 50 percent of all crimes in Tennessee are domestic violence-related. The YWCA is determined to make a difference and reduce the violence, but that change can only happen with the community’s support.

The event is FREE and will take place at the Omni Nashville Hotel on Thursday, September 13 from 8–9:30 am. Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. Click here to reserve your spot. Seating is limited.

The AMEND Experience will honor several area leaders who are dedicated to bringing the AMEND Together message to their community.

AMEND Together (formerly called MEND) is the YWCA’s primary prevention program engaging men men and boys to challenge a culture that supports violence against women, cultivate healthy masculinity, and change the future for women and girls.
