Burn the Mortgage

The “Burn the Mortgage…Build the Future” campaign is a fundraising initiative aimed at raising enough money to pay off the YWCA Weaver Domestic Violence Center’s mortgage and pay for deferred and ongoing maintenance.

Our Weaver Domestic Violence Center is the largest shelter in Tennessee, and since its opening in 2000, it has provided a place to stay for over 3,000 women and children through more than 85,000 nights of safety.  After 8 years, the YWCA still carries a mortgage that drains resources and limits the services we can provide.

This fundraising effort is about ensuring that this community will always have a safe place and available emergency shelter for women and children who experience domestic violence.  The campaign is grass roots, inviting the community of Nashville to step up and help the YWCA continue to change lives without the burden of debt.
