The YWCA has a new opening for an enthusiastic and professional Special Events Director to lead the organization's signature and emerging events to ensure fundraising growth and strong financial and volunteer management.  Responsibilities include recruitment of committee volunteers, sponsors and event participants, building and managing a volunteer base, providing strategic direction and overseeing all aspects of special events.  The Director will manage events from the earliest planning through implementation, evaluation and reporting.  The ideal candidate is results-oriented, creative and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  Bachelor's degree in related field and 5 years nonprofit experience with proven record of success in a full range of special events.  Qualified candidates will have working knowledge of fundraising database management, have the ability to motivate and influence others, and work independently as well as part of a mission-focused team.
